While Newcastle United crashed out of Europe last night one NUFC player had a contrasting evening.
Summer signing Yankuba Minteh was loaned out to Feyenoord immediately after signing for Newcastle from OB Odense.
The Gambian forward has had a great start to life in the Eredivisie under Arne Slot and has Newcastle fans excited for when he comes to the North East at the end of this season.
The Dutch champions were in Champions League action at Celtic last night, falling to a 2-1 defeat with the 19-year-old coming off the bench to bag Feyenoord's goal.
Even though Feyenoord were beaten on the night, they had done enough to secure a Europa League spot.
It was Minteh's fourth goal of the season to go along with his two assists as the youngster continues to prove himself worth of a place in Eddie Howe's squad next season.
The fact that he's now scored in the Champions League puts him ahead of many of our players in that particular stat.
There had been talk of recalling Minteh from loan in January due to our injury crisis but it doesn't look like that's a road Howe will go down as he'd rather he continue to develop as he is in the Netherlands.
If Minteh continues to impress the way he is now, though, you'd imagine he'll not be loaned out next year and could find himself playing for Newcastle next season.
