Newcastle United fans have many issues with the way ticketing is handled at the club these days, and a recently announced price hike has only added more fuel to the fire.

Gone are the days when you could just hand your season ticket to a mate if you couldn't make the game. Now everything has to be done through official channels, and tickets have to go back to the club for resale.

Long-standing fans have been hit with bans for passing on tickets, circumventing the process.

Meanwhile, thousands of non-season-ticket holders are held at the mercy of a ballot system, which is essentially a potluck system on whether you'll get a ticket for a game.

Wor Flags and the NUST called out the club for their ticketing issues

So imagine the uproar on social media when a Manchester City fan was seen handing a blue shirt to Antoine Semenyo to sign at pitchside on Saturday. We're not sure how tall Semenyo is, but we're pretty sure he can't reach Level 7 which is where the away fans should be housed.

The post from the official FA Cup X account was reposted by Wor Flags with a very poignant point made by the organisation attached to it.

"Fans are getting banned for asking their mates if they want their ticket for a game they can’t make yet this can happen so openly and no one bothers to step in to stop it.

"Not exactly a good look is it?"

Newcastle United claims that all ticketing processes were followed for Saturday's game

The Newcastle United Supporters Trust approached the club for comment, and the official response claims that all ticketing policies were adhered to.

“Thanks for raising this. I appreciate the Trust bringing this to us directly. I completely understand why fans feel strongly about maintaining the integrity of home areas, just as we do.

“I’ve looked into the situation involving the individual seen with a Manchester City shirt. While I recognise how this appears, I do not yet know the circumstance or intent of the person involved but I can confirm our ticket sale processes were adhered to for this match.”

We're not buying it.
