'No talk or drama': Alexander Isak shuts down talk of a summer move away from Newcastle United

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak is the topic of so much transfer speculation that it's starting to get a bit old now.

Between the rumours surrounding Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes and the whole "Newcastle needs to sell because of FFP", this summer's transfer talk has kicked off on a tedious note.

Only the most pessimistic Newcastle fans actually believed for one second that either of those players would be sold this summer. There may be some pressure to sell players due to the crippling grasp of Financial Fair Play, but we were never going to sacrifice our biggest stars for a bit of extra wiggle room in the transfer market. That would be like taking a giant leap back to take one step forward.

Most fans have got their heads around the fact that Bruno Guimaraes is staying put now, but what about Alexander Isak?

The Sweden international has been constantly linked to Arsenal with their delusional fanbase convinced that he'll be a Gunner come August, but Newcastle via Eddie Howe have said that they have no intention of selling, and now, speaking to Swedish outlet fotbollskanalen while on international duty, Isak has said so himself.

"I'm really, really happy in Newcastle. I had my best season now in my career. You can't underestimate that. I love everything really about the club, the fans, the city.

"I don't really have any thoughts of moving or anything like that. I'm having a great time and I'm very happy with my life."

Isak hasn't noticed a panic around FFP at the club

He was also asked about being moved on to free up funds due to FFP.

"It is not something I speculate about. Within the team or the club there has been no talk or drama around it. I have not received that information from the club that they would have to sell me."
