Newcastle United still don't appear to be any closer to finding their new winger for this season with time running out to get a deal done.
Noni Madueke seems to be the most realistic option for the Magpies as we discussed in our first Weekly Roundup on Sunday, however, there have been plenty of other names mentioned that could still be possibilities.
Federico Chiesa is one that never seems to go away with Juventus seemingly determined to cash in on him while they can.
However, there's one player whose name keeps appearing alongside that of Newcastle despite the stories never really making sense.
Barcelona winger Ferran Torres who they signed for £46 million from Manchester City in 2022 keeps being linked to Newcastle for staggeringly small amounts.
It keeps being suggested that Newcastle are trying to pry Torres away from Barcelona for £25 million which never really sat right with us.
Now reports coming from Marca in Spain suggest that there has been no approach by Newcastle and if there was one, Torres wouldn't be keen.
As relayed by Sport Witness, Torres' entourage has said that the 24-year-old wants to stay at Barcelona and fight for his place.
"The attacker’s entourage denies having received any proposal, neither official nor unofficial, from Newcastle, as some English media reported yesterday. If it materialises in the next few days, the international has no intention of accepting it."
Torres' Barcelona team mate Raphinha, could still be on the Magpies radar however, although we fear we'll likely get a similar response from the Brazilian.
