Nick Woltemade is the man of the moment in Germany right now after scoring three goals in his last two games for his country.

The three goals scored during this break are added to the one he scored in October, taking his tally to four goals for his country in just eight appearances. Four in his last three sounds a lot better, though.

You can watch Woltemade's powerful header to open the scoring for Germany against Slovakia with a free account on UEFA's website.

You will also see on those highlights just how involved the Newcastle United striker was in nearly all of Germany's six goals last night.

Malick Thiaw didn't have such a great night for Germany

Nick Woltemade impressed with his overall performance for Germany on Monday

His contributions earned him rave reviews in the German media, with Bulinews giving our Number 27 a rating of 9/10, saying that he just gets better and better.

"ST: Nick Woltemade - 9/10

"Leading by example from the front, Nick Woltemade just continues to get better and better, while becoming more and more important in a German shirt.

"He opened the scoring with a powerful header in the first half, and more than played his part throughout the remainder of the encounter. If the spot up top wasn't already his heading into next summer, then it most certainly is now."

Malick Thiaw didn't fare as well in the ratings as his club mate

Malick Thiaw also returned to the Germany set up this month after a string of stunning performances for Newcastle.

Despite being introduced just after the hour mark, Malick Thiaw didn't really get into the game for Germany and Bulinews handed our star defender a meagre rating of 5/10, the lowest one handed out to any of the German contingent.

We hope that won't colour Julian Nagelsmann's judgement too much and he's given another chance in the next international break in March. Surely if he keeps performing the way he has been for Newcastle, he'll be impossible to overlook.
