Nick Woltemade sings praises of key Newcastle United figure after adding another goal to his tally
Nick Woltemade now sits alongside Alan Shearer and Sir Les Ferdinand in the Newcastle United history books after becoming just the third striker to score in his first three appearances at St James' Park.
If ever there was such a thing as 'esteemed company', that would be it. Nick Woltemade's early signs suggest that he's good value to be held in the same regard as Shearer and Ferdinand for years to come.
We can't praise Nick Woltemade highly enough, and while this site became the Alexander Isak Bitcherama over the summer, it's now switching to the Nick Woltemade Appreciation Society, and we make no apologies for it.
As Danny Murphy said on Sunday's Match Of The Day, nobody's talking about Alexander Isak anymore - I mean, we are now, but that's just to say that we're not talking about him. You know what we mean.
Nick Woltemade made sure to praise Eddie Howe on Sunday
Woltemade himself, though, is keen to point the adulation elsewhere when speaking to BBC Sport, making sure that everyone knows that Eddie Howe is a huge reason for his form.
"Big win. Second in win a row. Really important and tough game to come in. Good energy and that was the key point for today.
"Now we go into international break with two wins - that was really important to come into with a good position.
"We have good energy from the bench. We have done really well.
"When you score as a striker on the pitch the feeling is really good. The gaffer is such a good gaffer."
It's hard to argue with what Eddie Howe has done for this club
Eddie Howe continues to prove his doubters wrong, although why he still has doubters at this point is anyone's guess.
The Newcastle gaffer has proven time and time again that he can recover from a blip if you give him the time to do so. Not that we're saying our start to the season has been a 'blip', we've still been picking up points, and the only teams to score past us in the Premier League have been Liverpool and Arsenal, and in the Champions League, it was Barcelona. Yes, Bradford got one in the League Cup, but are we going to deny lifelong Toon fan Andy Cook that belter?
Two wins in a row, six goals scored, none conceded, and all of this with some big players missing through injury? In Eddie Howe we trust, and clearly so does Nick Woltemade and the rest of the players, and that's what really matters.
