Newcastle United have finally confirmed the design for the upcoming season's away shirt, continuing the tradition of green and white since the Saudi-backed takeover.

The design actually leaked online several weeks ago, and now the club has officially released an image of Joelinton and Jacob Murphy wearing the green shirt with white badging and accents.

When the leaked images appeared online, the reception from fans was lukewarm to say the least, and now that the club has unveiled the kit on X, fans are all saying the same thing...

Where's Isak? I guess the distraction didn't work, eh?

According to the website, the arched dual green colourway is meant to represent the iconic Tyne Bridge, according to Adidas.

While Newcastle United and their fans will wear this kit on the road, we wanted to make sure that a part of the city was travelling with them. We took the famous Tyne Bridge arch as inspiration and created the bold pattern to represent the iconic structure across the new shirt.”

Literally all Adidas has done is take the same template that they've used for the Leeds United away kit, warp the two-tone colourway a little bit and say, "It's the Tyne Bridge". We see you, Adidas! In fairness, the Leeds kit is absolutely stunning, so it's not an issue with the template.

We're sure there are fans out there who love the green design. In fact, there were a couple of fans in the replies on X who clearly do. However, we just can't forget losing pretty much every game the last time we wore a green shirt two seasons ago.

The new kit will go on sale on Friday, August 1st, but the lads will be wearing the kit in Korea, so expect to see it tomorrow as they take on Team K-League.

What are your thoughts on the new kit?
