Newcastle United youngster Sean Neave was presented with a Carabao Cup winner's medal in March when the Magpies lifted the League Cup trophy at Wembley.

The 18-year-old striker was named on the bench in the final, and despite the fact that he hadn't kicked a ball in the entire competition, his presence was enough to grant him a medal.

Neave has been earmarked for big things at Newcastle United as the youngster can't seem to stop scoring in the reserves, and has clearly caught Eddie Howe's eye, given that he's been caught up to the first-team bench a few times.

The lifelong Newcastle fan has yet to make his senior competitive debut for Newcastle, but he did feature in the Magpies' pre-season preparations this summer.

Sean Neave was presented with the Wor Jackie Trophy at last night's Sport Newcastle awards

Now Neave has another accolade to go alongside his Carabao Cup winner's medal after he was awarded the Wor Jackie Trophy at an event in the City last night.

The Wor Jackie Trophy is, of course, named after Newcastle's famous number 9, Jackie Milburn and is presented to a rising star in football by Sport Newcastle each year.

Past winners have included Andy Carroll, Adam Armstrong and, believe it or not, Nile Ranger.

Sean Neave is pushing to break into the Newcastle United first team

Sport Newcastle announced Sean Neave's win with a statement acknowledging his efforts for the Magpies.

"Congratulations to Sean Neave of Newcastle United, proud winner of the Wor Jackie Trophy!

"Named in memory of the legendary Jackie Milburn, this award celebrates Sean’s outstanding skill, attitude, and passion for the game."

It's another feather in the cap for Neave, who will be hoping to break into Eddie Howe's first team. And given how desperate we are for a goal scorer, it might not be a bad shout.
