He may not have got many minutes in the first team last season, but it seems people haven't forgotten about Newcastle United's exciting academy product Lewis Miley.
In the 2023/24 season, Newcastle's injury crisis saw youngster Lewis Miley thrust into first-team action much earlier than Eddie Howe would have liked.
But while Howe was reluctant, he clearly had trust in Miley, and that trust was repaid many times as he slotted into Newcastle's midfield like he'd been playing there for years.
Commentators and pundits were often blown away by Miley's composure, noting how he plays like someone way beyond his years.
We expected to see more of Miley in the last season after such an impressive debut season, but while Eddie Howe had said early on that he'd like to avoid using him as much, we weren't prepared for just how little we actually saw of the 19-year-old with Joe Willock often preferred to the academy graduate.
That doesn't mean he's fallen out of favour, and he certainly hasn't been forgotten about by people outside of the club, as American sportswear brand Under Armour have signed him up on a lucrative deal to be their face of the Premier League after Trent Alexander-Arnold moved to Real Madrid and partnered with Adidas.
Miley has gone the other way, leaving Adidas and signing a multi-year partnership with Under Armour.
The deal between Miley and Under Armour was signed towards the back end of last year, but the brand has recently started to roll out its marketing starring Miley.
Under Armour gave a little bit of hype for their new face of the brand and confirming the boots he will wear next season.
"At 19 Lewis Miley has already proven his resilience and maturity, earning 20 appearances, scoring twice for a talented Newcastle United squad, whilst also lifting the Carabao Cup. His grounded mentality, strong work ethic and unwavering focus make him one of the Premier League’s standout young prospects. Now part of the Under Armour squad, he will take to the pitch in Under Armour’s Magnetico Elite 4 boots as he continues his ascent with The Magpies."
