Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon recently sat down with VERSUS for 20 quick-fire questions in which he revealed a few bits of inside information about himself that we perhaps didn't know.

While there was nothing groundbreaking revealed, it's always good to get a peek behind the curtain of the lives of our on-field heroes.

We'd be lying if we said we didn't have a bit of a chuckle at Anthony Gordon's responses, particularly around fashion - we will never forget that outfit, Anthony. You may not have been a Newcastle player at the time, but we'll never, ever forget.

Gordon went on to claim that one of the things people don't understand about him is his fashion sense, well, no argument there, mate.

Is Anthony Gordon eyeing a move to Spain?

Gordon picked the U21s European Championships win in 2023 as his proudest moment in football, and he also shared that he is learning Spanish. Is somebody eyeing a move to Spain?

Nah, he can't be because he said that his philosophy is to live in the moment 'not the future or the past'. But then he goes on to say that his role model is 'me next year' ... how can that be if you're not looking to the future, Anthony? Come on, mate, where's the consistency?

In all seriousness, there's something really healthy about holding your future self up as being in your own role model.

Fabian Schar and Kieran Trippier might have got off lightly when they squared up to Anthony Gordon

The answer that we found the most interesting was when he was asked about any hidden talents. Gordon gave a one-word answer: "Boxing".

That does explain his fiery nature. That side of him has quelled since he joined Newacstle, perhaps as a result of taking up boxing, but if it's something he's been doing a while then Kieran Trippier and Fabian Schar can count themselves lucky they didn't get a right hook back in his Everton days when they squared up.

Indeed, that confrontation was the talk of the training ground when Gordon joined with Schar joking with Gordon he'd have to 'earn' his protection from opposition players.
