Newcastle United are in the market for another young centre-back with world-class potential.

Radu Dragusin from Genoa is a name that is often bandied around with the expectation that the Romanian 21-year-old would cost just £25milllion.

There is another name in the frame, however, but that deal now looks like it will cost four times as much.

Everton have stuck a mega price tag on Jarrad Branthwaite

According to inews, Everton have slapped a £100million price tag on their 21-year-old defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

Jarrad Branthwaite could be Dan Burn 2.0

Newcastle, Tottenham and Manchester United are all sniffing around Branthwaite who, like our very own Sven Botman, has been labeled a 'Rolls Royce' player which has caused Everton to slap a hefty fee on his name.

Standing at 6'5", Branthwaite has been superb for Everton this season and has been crucial in the Toffees turning over their 10-point deduction and climbing out of the danger zone.

Branthwaite seems a bit too similar to Botman

Like our very own Dan Burn, Branthwaite is a left-sided centre-back who can also play at left-back, so with Sven Botman already installed at LCB, would Newcastle be looking at Branthwaite to succeed Dan Burn at left-back?

Everton insist they are under no pressure to sell Branthwaite, but given their precarious financial position, they might not be able to hold out for too long.

Branthwaite would be another fantastic young talent to add to Newcastle's ranks, but the fact he occupies the same position as Sven Botman does make us wonder just how likely this one is to be true.
