Newcastle United were handed another home tie in the Carabao Cup, but weren't so lucky when it came to the calibre of opposition this time around.

After sweeping aside League One Bradford last week, Newcastle were drawn against Tottenham Hotspur in the last 16 of the competition.

As holders, Newcastle will be hoping to make it all the way to Wembley again to defend their crown, but once again, it's not going to be easy.

The all-Premier League tie was highlighted as one of the ties of the round, and as such, it's no surprise that the broadcasters have opted to show his one live on regular TV.

ITV will show Newcastle United v Tottenham's Carabao Cup clash next month

Sky Sports shows all Carabao Cup games via Sky Sports+, but ITV also gets to select games to show, and they have chosen our game against Spurs to break up their Coronation Street schedule.

The game has been set to be played on Wednesday, 29th October, with an 8 pm Kick-off at St James' Park.

Sky Sports subscribers can watch either broadcast, so you get to avoid Lee Dixon if you want to, and why wouldn't you?

8 out of 10 Newcastle matches are picked for live broadcast

Eight of Newcastle United's next 10 fixtures across all competitions will be shown on live TV, which will prove to be a nice little boost to the club's bottom line come the end of the season when the TV money is divided up again.

Newcastle have been regular features on live TV since the takeover, and Eddie Howe performed miracles with the team.

Long may it continue. More TV is more money, and more money means fewer PSR issues.
