If there's one thing we've learned about Newcastle United in the last 12 months or so it's that they bloody love a goalkeeper.

The Magpies currently have five 'keepers registered in the squad, albeit there's really only a battle for supremacy between two of them, Nick Pope and Martin Dubravka.

However, in the transfer window last summer Newcastle were linked with James Trafford, Filipe Jorgensen and Giorgi Mamardashvili to name a few.

Somehow, despite tracking those top stoppers, we ended up with John Ruddy and Odysseas Vlachodimos to join Mark Gillespie in the squad as sentient training dummies.

Newcastle could look to bring in more than one young goalkeeper this summer

Ruddy and Gillespie's contracts are due to expire in the summer and they are likely to leave. Ody is also very likely to leave having been as much use to Eddie Howe as a carrier bag with the bottom cut out.

There are still strong rumours that Newcastle will seal the deal for Burnley and England 'keeper James Trafford this summer, but with three potential exits, we expect he won't be the only one through the door.

The Sunday Mirror certainly doesn't think so as they are now reporting that Newcastle, along with Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham, have their eye on £30 million-rated Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

Senne Lammens is being tracked by several English sides

Lammens has been hailed as one of the world's 'outstanding' young prospects already.

The 22-year-old former Club Brugge goalie hasn't even played 50 professional games yet but is already catching the eye of Premier League sides. Manchester United and promotion hopefuls Leeds United have also been linked with an interest in Lammens recently.

Whether any club would come in with a bid anywhere near £30 million for such an unproven entity is unlikely, but we could see a cheeky bid or two going in this off-season.
