Nick Woltemade showed last night that if he's given good service, he will deliver goals as he scored twice for Germany in their 2-0 win over Luxembourg.

The Newcastle United striker has been a bit goal-shy for his club in the last couple of games, but we've been reluctant to put the blame on him as the 23-year-old has been absolutely starved of good service.

He proved last night what he can do if the ball is put into good areas, scoring a goal with each foot, both very tidy finishes.

It's the type of service he's simply not getting at Newcastle right now, as the midfield and wingers don't seem to know how best to serve him.

Despite a lack of service, though, Woltemade is scoring for the Magpies on a regular basis and speaking after Germany's win last night (via GOAL), Woltemade backed himself to score even if the game isn't going well.

"I've developed great confidence in my abilities and a really good feeling that I know: no matter how the game goes, I can still score a goal.

He has proved that for Newcastle a few times this season after being thrown in at the deep end by Eddie Howe due to a lack of other options.

Nick Woltemade is brimming with confidence

It has been a similar story for Woltemade with Germany, as Julian Nagelsmann is missing some key personnel up front, but with the likes of Kai Havertz, Niclas Fullkrug and Tim Kleindienst due back from injury soon, Woltemade was asked if he was worried about his place in the team.

"No honestly, not really."

You've got to love that level of confidence, and if he's scoring, then why should Nagelsmann drop him for a more 'recognisable' name?

Let's just hope he can bring this confidence back to Newcastle with him next week.
