A new goalkeeper arriving at Newcastle United this summer seems inevitable, but as for whether the new addition is here to replace Nick Pope or push him on, we're not sure.
Both Nick Pope and Martin Dubravka have shared the responsibility of keeping goal for Eddie Howe this season, and both have done an admirable job without being spectacular.
James Trafford has been heavily linked with a move to Tyneside this summer, but just in case that one doesn't go through, Newcastle have other options in mind.
One of which still appears to be Southampton's Aaron Ramsdale who was tracked by the Magpies before he left Arsenal for the Saints.
Southampton's stay in the Premier League was confirmed to be a one-season affair at the weekend when a defeat to Tottenham ensured their relegation. As a result, there's expected to be an exodus of top players from Southampton with Ramsdale likely to be one of them.
Despite having a horrendous season in terms of numbers - he's kept just two clean sheets all season and leaked 54 goals in 23 Premier League games - journalist Peter O'Rourke has told Give Me Sport that he believes Newcastle are still keen.
The 26-year-old ticks all of the boxes Newcastle are looking for in a new 'keeper according to O'Rourke and £25 million could seal the deal thanks to a relegation clause.
We definitely reckon the priority will be to get the deal done for Burnley's James Trafford this summer and that Ramsdale will be one of several options should that deal not go through for whatever reason.
Even though his stats this season would suggest that he has hands like Polo Mints, we know that Ramsdale is a top 'keeper, but even he was powerless to plug the gaps left by the crap that was in front of him with Southampton being one of the worst Premier League sides in history - there's still time to make it to that number one spot.
If Southampton fail to pick up any more points this season they will finally end Derby's reign as the worst Premier League side ever with their paltry season total of 11 points in 2007/08. The Rams won just one game that season ... against Newcastle United! FFS!
