Newcastle United are preparing for a clear out in the January transfer window.
The Magpies have been plagued by the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules in recent years and have felt the true impact of that over the last 12 months with no permanent first team signings in that time frame.
Newcastle came within hours of a points deduction in July because of it and as a result were forced to sell key assets Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh with the latter failing to make a single appearance for Eddie Howe's side before moving to Brighton.
The impact has been severe and should be considered a catalyst for Newcastle's shaky start to the season which was summed up in Saturday's draw against fellow strugglers Crystal Palace.
Now, as Newcastle look to the future they are moving some players aside to make way for the new guard.
Kieran Trippier has had limited playtime in the Premier League this season. Missing a period to injury, the 34-year-old has become second fiddle to Tino Livramento in recent months as the young full-back becomes more experienced and more promising.
Livramento's fine form recently earned him his first call-up to the England squad alongside his International debut.
Trippier was the top assist maker for Howe's side last season with 11 in his 39 appearances but lingering injury problems and a £120k-a-week wage means the former England International could be moved on in January.
According to Football Insider, The Magpies are now ready to cash in on Trippier who has a year-and-a-half left on his current deal. Jose Mourninho's Fenerbahce and AC Milan are reportedly interested in his signature.
Should Trippier leave in January, he may not be alone. Reports last week suggest that Toon winger Miguel Almiron will be allowed to leave the club in January after he fell out of the first team picture.
The 30-year-old has been limited to just 103 Premier League minutes this season as Howe continues to experiment with playing Harvey Barnes, Anthony Gordon and Joelinton on the right side of attack.
The Paraguayan International was linked with a move to the MLS in summer but the fee wasn't right. Almiron is now linked with an unnamed club in the Saudi Pro League with the prospect of him leaving looking much more likely.
Newcastle are keen to invest in the upcoming transfer window with Bryan Mbuemo a top target for Howe and sporting director Paul Mitchell.
