A move for Anthony Elanga has reportedly been signed, sealed and delivered for a while, but as yet, there has been no official confirmation by Newcastle United.

Newcastle are notoriously slow when it comes to announcing new arrivals, so while it is super frustrating, it also isn't a surprise.

Meanwhile, as fans wait for the Elanga confirmation, Newcastle United Women have announced the arrival of Molly Pike from Southampton.

NUFC have also announced an arrival for the men's team in the form of coach Martin Mark, from FC Midtjylland

Martin Mark will take over the set-piece coaching duties

Newcastle have been on the look-out for a new coach to come in and work on set-pieces, and the Dane is the man who convinced the club that he's the man they need with the official website giving some background as to what made him suitable for the role.

"The 31-year-old implemented an innovative set-piece strategy that has yielded impressive results under head coach Thomas Thomasberg.

"FC Midtjylland won the 2023/24 Danish Superliga title and finished top of the regular season table once again in 2024/25, with 27 of their 64 league goals scored from set pieces during the most recent campaign."

Jason Tindall has been in charge of set-pieces for a while

As you can imagine, the majority of the replies to the announcement on X were fans asking where the Elanga announcement is.

But we're sure the fans are happy to see the addition of a dedicated set-piece coach. Jason Tindall has handled that side of the game since Eddie Howe took over, but it's a trend now to have a specialist, and it's one we've finally adopted.

Welcome to the club, Martin. Now ... where's this bloody Elanga announcement?
