Big Dan Burn is back on Tyneside after heading off on international duty the day after Newcastle United's historic Carabao Cup win.

The big man from Blyth stole the headlines when Newcastle ended their 56-year wait for silverware with his stunning header that broke the deadlock against Liverpool at Wembley, and set Newcastle along their way to making history.

Like 13 other teammates, though, Dan Burn couldn't fully celebrate at the time with international duty to attend, and it wasn't going to be an opportunity Burn was going to risk messing up with it being his first England camp at the age of 32 after being called up by Thomas Tuchel.

However, since returning home, he and a few Toon teammates headed to the Utilita Arena to watch Newcastle fan Chris Dobey in action at the PDC Darts.

Harvey Barnes acted as Dan Burn's Instagram hype man

Burn was picked up by the cameras in the crowd alongside Harvey Barnes, who held up a sign saying 'Follow @BigDanBurn' after the defender finally joined Instagram. The crowd in the arena erupted into chants of "He's from Blyth!".

Also in attendance were Kieran Trippier, Sean Longstaff, John Ruddy and Matt Targett with the lads clearly having a good night.

Saturday will see all the players together with the trophy for the first time since they hoisted it aloft at Wembley as the team will take the cup through the city on an open-top bus before heading to the big stage on the Town Moor where the party will continue.

Dan Burn has made his first post after joining Instagram

Meanwhile, Dan Burn has just the one post on Instagram so far but he has taken the time to thank everyone for their support after an incredible week.

"As a proud Geordie and a proud Englishman, I’ve had worse weeks😀😀. Thank you so much for the incredible support. See you all Saturday. Howay the lads. ⚫️⚪️🏆🕺"

Mind, he needs to come up with a new line other than "I've had worse weeks".
