Newcastle United's aim of finding the brightest young talent in world football to nurture and prepare for the first team is well documented at this point.

With PSR throttling the life out of the transfer market, clubs are now having to play the long game when it comes to finding talent.

Scouts are constantly on the lookout for young players with bags of potential that they can snap up and bring through the ranks at the club and form into future stars rather than forking out gargantuan fees for current stars.

Newcastle are huge fans of this approach given that, despite having the richest backers in the world, can barely afford to spend anything close to what's required to land top talent.

Julien Duranville: Bags of talent - made of glass

Newcastle and Bayern Munich have their sights set on Julien Duranville

Football Transfers now reports that Newcastle have their next young target in their sights in the form of Borussia Dortmund's 18-year-old Julien Duranville.

Duranville has already made his senior debut for Belgium after Vincent Kompany handed him his start at Anderlecht before he moved to Dortmund.

It's also believed that Kompany is keen to be reunited with Duranville at Bayern Munich and could challenge Newcastle for the forward.

Duranville's injury issues are a huge red flag

Primarily a left-winger, Duranville can cover both flanks which makes him seem like a long-term replacement for Anthony Gordon.

However, he sounds more like a replacement for Callum Wilson with Dortmund insiders claiming he is 'made of glass'. Duranville's last game was in September as the youngster has had several injury problems since he arrived in Germany.

He sounds perfect for Newcastle then.

Despite the injury concerns, however, it's believed that Newcastle are willing to take the risk.
