While he may not have had many opportunities to impress at Newcastle United, young Danish forward Will Osula has still managed to make his way into Geordie hearts.

The Denmark U21 forward was signed last summer for around £15 million from Sheffield United after Jason Tindall had been impressed with him while he was briefly at the Blades.

Still deemed to be too raw to be trusted on a regular basis, Osula has made some impressive cameos for the Magpies and fans will be hoping to see more of the forward next season.

Osula scored in the FA Cup against Bromley and bagged his first Premier League goal with a towering header against Ipswich late in the season.

Today, though, Osula has given his biggest hint yes as to why Newcastle United signed him after he grabbed a win for Denmark U21s.

Ukraine U21S hosted Denmark, and while the hosts took the lead in the first half, Denmark pegged them back just after the hour mark, but then Ukraine regained the lead on 78 minutes, which was nine minutes after Newcastle's Will Osula came off the bench for Denmark.

Osula kicked it up a gear after Ukraine took the lead, assisting one goal for Denmark and scoring another, bagging the win for Denmark in Group D of the U21 European Championships.

England begin their U21 European Championships defence tonight

It now remains to be seen if his heroics will earn him a starting berth in Denmark's next group game against the Netherlands on Sunday.

Meanwhile, England played the Czech Republic tonight in their first game of their title defence, but the game had yet to kick-off at the time of writing.

Tino Livramento is starting for the young Lions, as is former Toon star Elliot Anderson. So hopefully by the time you read this, we'll be celebrating a Tino screamer and an Elliot Anderson goal as they get their campaign off to a winning start.
