Newcastle United played out an incredibly boring 0-0 draw with AFC Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon as Eddie Howe tweaked his side and his tactics.

After the high-intensity game against Barcelona on Thursday, Eddie Howe rang the changes as he faced his old club. Seven swaps were made, including a tweak of formation.

We said before kick-off that the team looked weak, and it proved to be the case. Strong at the back, even in the 3-5-2 guise, which switched to a back five out of possession.

Unfortunately, that formation, and having Joe Willock on the left, offered absolutely nothing going forward.

Poor Nick Woltemade must have felt so alone

Nick Woltemade was completely isolated up front and at one point late in the first half, his only touch in the opposition box was after he'd created a chance to cross into the middle, but as he doesn't possess the power of teleportation, the man we needed on the end of the cross was the one providing it and that just doesn't work.

Bournemouth had the ball in the back of the net in the first half, but it was ruled out for offside, and that was the only incident of note, and even that we had to be reminded of by the Sky Sports commentator at full-time.

The first shot on target by any side in the second half came on 90 minutes.

We're genuinely worried about Bradford on Wednesday

God only knows what team Eddie Howe is going to put out against Bradford on Wednesday, but if we keep playing like this, it's not going to matter.

We can't draw 0-0 with every game of the season. Something needs to be done about our attacking phase of play because there's a real lack of ideas.

Onwards to the Carabao Cup. Hopefully, we can do better on Wednesday night.
