It has been heavily reported that Newcastle United are looking to sign Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer.

The Magpies are aiming for a deal to sign the England international but with Everton placing a £37million price tag on him it may be more challenging than it seems.

With Callum Wilson likely to leave, Calvert-Lewin would come in as backup for Alexander Isak.

Luke Edwards of the Telegraph reported that Newcastle were interested in the 27-year-old, but a deal is still a long way from being completed with a fee and personal terms yet to be agreed.

A new spanner in the works has emerged, however, with several clubs also looking to sign Calvert-Lewin this summer to bolster their attacking options.

Clubs in England and Italy have a concrete interest in Calvert-Lewin.

It was reported by the Daily Mail that Serie A club AC Milan are interested in signing Calvert-Lewin as a replacement for Oliver Giroud, who has left the Italian giants for the MLS.

According to ChronicleLive, Premier League clubs West Ham and Brentford have 'made moves' for the Englishman.

Everton are continuing to weigh up their options and are holding out for a bid that reflects their £37m asking price closer.

Joshua Zirkzee failure could lead to better approach by AC Milan for Calvert-Lewin.

Milan are also interested in Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee, the 23-year-old scored 11 goals in the Serie A last season, helping La Grassa reach the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history.

Manchester United and Arsenal are also reported to be interested in signing the Dutchman in a deal set to be worth £45m.

Should Milan fail to sign Zirkzee, it is believed that their backup plan would be to sign Calvert-Lewin.
