Newcastle United exit confirmed as midfielder joins League One side on loan
It seems that somebody behind the scenes at Newcastle United is still doing their job, at least as the club has confirmed the departure of an academy player on loan for the upcoming season.
Midfielder Joe While is heading out on loan again after being left out of the squad that travelled to Asia for the pre-season tour.
White has been around the first team for a couple of seasons, but is now set for his fifth loan spell away from the club, as it was announced by the club that he has joined League One side Leyton Orient.
The 22-year-old midfielder has made four appearances for Newcastle in the Premier League, amassing just 12 minutes in total.
Joe White is heading to League One Leyton Orient
Speaking to the Leyton Orient official site (via BBC), the Carlisle-born player said there was only one move he wanted this summer.
"Once Newcastle told me that I'd be allowed to go out on loan, Leyton Orient was my first choice.
"I saw a lot of the team towards the end of last season, and it was a really exciting one to watch.
"I've got better with every loan spell I've had and I believe that my skills can really contribute to us having an entertaining team again this season."
Eddie Howe clearly saw something in Joe White
Joe White looked to be a player from the Newcastle United academy who had a lot of promise. He'd certainly caught Eddie Howe's eye enough to be involved in pre-season tours and to be called upon during the injury-ravaged 2023/24 season.
However, the fact that he is now 22 and going out on loan to League One again suggests that his development hasn't been what the club was expecting.
Hopefully, White has a successful spell and comes back to Newcastle with renewed confidence and is given another chance, as it feels like it could be his last one.
