Newcastle United could bag themselves a bargain this summer as they look to add a Premier League-ready striker to their ranks.
Callum Wilson is expected to leave the club in the summer when his contract expires leaving Eddie Howe with just Alexander Isak and Will Osula as centre-forward options, and with Osula still a bit too raw for Howe's liking, it doesn't leave the gaffer with much of a Plan B.
It's therefore highly expected that the Magpies will recruit a striker this summer and while Paul Mitchell and his minions have been making sure no stone is left unturned in their hunt, with names like Jonathan David and Moise Kean mentioned.
Another potential target is already playing in the Premier League but that may not be the case for much longer.
Of the three promoted clubs, Ipswich Town stands the best chance of beating the drop, but even their odds are extremely slim, with a 12-point gap to close before the end of the season.
It's more a case of when and not if Ipswich are relegated and when that happens, The Guardian are reporting that a £30 million release clause will be activated in striker Liam Delap's contract.
Newcastle have expressed an interest in the former Manchester City man after an impressive first season in the Premier League, although Chelsea and Manchester United are said to be at the front of the queue.
If the reports of a £30m release clause are true then there could be quite the fight for the 22-year-old.
Despite playing in a struggling side, Delap has managed to impress many onlookers with his 12 goals and two assists this season.
Any striker Newcastle try to sign this summer is going to prove a challenge as they are always so highly sought after, so we might as well just join the fight.
