Newcastle United confirm date for 'large-scale supporter event' to celebrate Carabao Cup victory

Perhaps the only bad thing about Newcastle United's Carabao Cup victory on Sunday was that the players barely had time to celebrate the victory before they had to leave the club camp to join up with their respective international set ups.

Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie claims that Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes headed off from the club's hotel early this morning to link up with Brazil having not even been to bed.

Dan Burn, Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon all headed to St George's Park to join their England teammates.

This international break, while providing a bit of time for a few players to get a well-earned rest, does mean that Newcastle's celebrations have been put on hold until everybody is back together.

Saturday 29th March - Save the date

While Newcastle fans will have to wait to celebrate with the team, we do at least have a confirmed date when it will happen.

If you head to Newcastle's official website, you'll be greeted with Eddie Howe holding the Carabao Cup and a message saying to "Save The Date - Saturday 29th March" with a countdown to the event.

Full details are yet to be confirmed, but at least we have a solid date.

Newcastle's next game is against Brentford at St James' Park in April

Newcastle won't be in action that weekend after being knocked out of the FA Cup by Brighton, but we'll have our own cup party instead.

With the international break and FA Cup weekend, Newcastle won't be in action until Wednesday 2nd April in the Premier League against Brentford at St James' Park.

We imagine that the atmosphere that night will be electric, with it being the first time the fans get to see their cup winners in action again.
