It surely hasn't escaped your attention that 6'7" Newcastle United defender Dan Burn is missing a digit on his right hand.
When he was just 13, Dan Burn lost the ring finger on his right hand after jumping a fence and getting his ring caught on a fence spike.
It certainly sounded like a pretty grim ordeal, and the Blyth-born star has been missing that finger for 20 years now.
In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Burn confirmed that it hasn't really affected his day-to-day life too much in recent times, but there were awkward moments when he was younger.
In fact, Dan Burn cites the advent of contactless payments as the best thing that has ever happened to him when asked about it affecting his life.
"When I first started going out with my girlfriend, at the time it wasn't contactless and cards, you used to use cash and money.
"So say, we used to go to McDonalds, we'd go through the drive-thru and hand over your money, and when they give it back, if I put my right hand out, if they put coins there ... so the coins would fall between the gap between of the car and the window and then I'd open the door but I couldn't get the money back so I would just have to leave it and drive off. So contactless was the best thing that ever happened to me."
Honestly, we absolutely adore Dan Burn. He comes across as so genuine and likeable. He's a good storyteller, too.
We know that he's working on his coaching badges right now, but we're definitely looking forward to the Dan Burn autobiography; we bet he's got some tales to tell.
But not until he's done with football for maximum effect, obviously.
