Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes heaps praise on 'unbelievable professional' after fantastic week

Newcastle United comfortably banished a 94-year-old record on Sunday after completing the league double over Manchester United for the first time since 1931.

In perhaps one of the most one-sided contests between the two sides since the famous 5-0 thrashing in 1997, Newcastle could have had more than the four goals they finished with.

It's certainly not a formality that Gordon gets back into the side as it would be a huge call to drop Barnes given the form he's in, and his captain, Bruno Guimaraes had nothing but good things to say about the number 11 in his post-match interview with Sky Sports.

"He is an unbelievable player. I love him, the way he plays, the way he shoots. He always works hard and tries to help the team. He deserves his moment.

"As I said, he's an unbelievable professional and an unbelievable player."

Jason Tindall resisted the urge to make the more obvious swap when bringing Anthony Gordon on and left Barnes on the field, moving him over to the right flank where he replaced Jacob Murphy.

Murphy had also got himself an assist in the game, continuing his fine form for the club. In fact, this was probably one of his all-round best performances for Newcastle, he looked like a different player the way he was jinking through the Man United defence.

There wasn't a single player who was lacking yesterday, as it was another comprehensive victory for the Mags.
