Hundreds of thousands of Newcastle United fans descended upon the city centre bedecked in black and white on Saturday to watch their heroes parade the club's first domestic trophy in 70 years.

The crowd scenes were unbelievable, with players absolutely blown away by the turnout.

As the open-top bus crawled along its route from St James' Park to the Town Moor, it was literally impossible to see a square inch of pavement such was the density of the crowds.

We were all expecting a good turnout, but I doubt anybody was expecting as many as actually turned out.

What, no F-bomb?

You could see how much this meant to Bruno Guimaraes

Despite not being from the area, or even this country, Bruno Guimaraes seemed to be enjoying the celebrations more than anyone.

The Brazilian said on day one when he arrived at Newcastle he would bring a trophy to the club and write his name into the history books.

I bet even he didn't think he'd do that as team captain, but that's how it has all worked out.

Bruno managed to cut the language on social media

After causing Ant & Dec and even the BBC to apologise for his language on the day, Bruno's message to fans on Instagram was surprisingly clean.

"What a day, man! History made and what a wonderful reception, Geordies! Thank you for everything, you deserve all the best. Howay the lads! 🖤🤍3️⃣9️⃣"

Let's do this all again soon eh?
