Newcastle United announce two fixture changes as Carabao Cup tie date confirmed
Now that the Champions League and Carabao Cup draws have been made, Newcastle United's fixture list has had a bit of a shuffle.
Newcastle learned the order they will play their Champions League games on Saturday, and while supporters headed to travel sites to book their flights, it was clear that some Premier League fixtures were going to have to be moved to accommodate the new additions.
The Magpies were also involved in the draw for the third round of the Carabao Cup, which is also affected by Newcastle's involvement in the Champions League.
The club have today confirmed two fixture changes in the wake of these draws.
Newcastle's trip to Bournemouth has been shifted
Firstly, Newcastle's trip to Bournemouth in the Premier League has been put back 24 hours due to Newcastle hosting Barcelona on Thursday evening.
Newcastle will now play the Cherries at 2pm on Sunday 21st September.
The original schedule was a 3pm Saturday kick-off. There will be no live UK TV coverage for this game.
Newcastle start their Carabao Cup defence at St James' Park on 24th September
Newcastle will then kick off their Carabao Cup defence three days later.
Bradford will visit St James' Park on Wednesday, 24th September for a 7:45 pm kick-off.
All Carabao Cup games will be broadcast live on Sky Sports as they were last season.
