Newcastle United continue to build up a list of players to be rejected by this summer. If last summer's transfer window is anything to go by, that is.

After 'keeping their powder dry' in January, which is journalist speak for being tight, Newcastle fans are expecting that Ross Wilson is far more active in the market this summer.

Given how much Newcastle have struggled at times this season, it's clear to anyone with even the most basic understanding of football just how badly new bodies are needed at the club.

We need reinforcements in every area of the pitch, but one area that it was believed would be addressed in January was a creative midfielder; nothing ever materialised on that front.

Omari Hutchinson joined Nottingham Forest in the summer for £37.5m

Newcastle want Nottingham Forest's Omari Hutchinson

It now seems that the Magpies have someone in mind to approach in the summer, but they will face competition from Arsenal, Chelsea and a host of clubs around Europe, according to SportsBoom.

Nottingham Forest's Omari Hutchinson has caught the eye of several top clubs with his performances this season for the struggling Forest side, and with relegation a real possibility, they face a tough task of keeping hold of the 22-year-old.

Hutchinson only arrived at the City Ground in the summer for £37.5 million, and Forest already value him at around £55 million in a bid to scare away prospective buyers.

Omari Hutchinson's numbers don't do his overall play justice

With just one goal and five assists in 20 appearances this season, the numbers don't really back up his talent. It's worth bearing in mind that he's playing for a woeful Nottingham Forest side who have had almost as many managers as they've had wins this season.

The England U21 star ticks so many Eddie Howe boxes that it's hard not to believe there's some truth to this one.

That being said, if Forest manage to beat the drop this season, we don't see them giving up one of their star assets in the summer, he'll only move if they go down unless someone is willing to offer silly money.
