We are getting ever closer to the big day when Newcastle United's Adidas home kit will get its full official reveal and go on sale.

The new kits will be available to buy from 8am on Friday 7th June and excitement is through the roof amongst the Toon Army.

Unfortunately, the other thing that is through the roof is the cost of said kit with the adult shirts set to sell for £80 for a replica and £110 for the authentic shirt, while Junior sizes will be priced at £55.

The rest of this article will be written through tears as those prices are absolutely eye-watering.

£5 from every shirt sale until the end of August will go to the Newcastle United Foundation

The prices are in line with other Adidas-partnered clubs and aren't that much of a jump up from the Castore prices but man, it's not cheap following your club these days is it?

In a bit of a positive spin, if you pick up a shirt before the end of August then £5 from your purchase will go to the Newcastle United Foundation as stated by the club's official site this morning.

For adult shirts, the donation will be the net of VAT value of £5 of the purchase price, which is £4.17 per shirt, while a full £5 will be donated for junior shirts that are VAT exempt.

We applaud the club for listening to the FAB

This move comes after a suggestion by the Fan Advisory Board that the club consider a community beneficiary as part of bringing the retail business back in-house.

It was an excellent idea by the FAB and we applaud the club for listening and putting it into action.

Despite the insane cost of shirts, we're expecting the new kits to sell in crazy numbers when they hit the shelves on Friday.
