Bayern Munich have come in with a solid bid of €15million (£12.8million) for Newcastle United's Kieran Trippier.
The latest bid by Bayern for Kieran Trippier would actually represent a profit for Newcastle but the bid has been rejected according to Craig Hope.
There is a lot of talk online now about whether Newcastle should have accepted the bid as fans start to get used to the idea of losing Trippier this month.
Meanwhile, there are those, like the club, who believe they should be able to get more money for the England international.
It's an interesting one as in some respects Trippier is virtually priceless. What he brings to our club off the pitch will be nigh-on impossible to replace, but at the same time, he is turning 34 this year and is starting to lose his legs a bit as we've seen in the latter stages of too many games this season.
If we were still able to make money on a deal for a player of his age even after everything he's done for us, it surely has to be a deal worth considering.
Newcastle have two extremely talented, young right-backs coming into the game now in Tino Livramento and Harrison Ashby as well as Sweden international Emil Krafth to guide them should Trippier be sold.
If the club hang on until the summer to move Trippier on we'd likely not get as much as we paid for him.
It just remains to be seen now whether Bayern Munich will come back with an improved offer of it Newcastle's stance that Trippier is not for sale holds firm.
