Newcastle United's quest to find young talent to bring into the club and develop has continued in the background despite a changing of the guard.

One thing that Dan Ashworth and Paul Mitchell's policies have in common is that finding talented young players to develop for the first team is a strong strategy for long-term success.

Hopefully, Paul Mitchell will have more of an impact on Shola Ameobi and his loan strategy than Ashworth did after Garang Kuol was sent out on loans that neither benefitted him nor the club, hampering his development.

After signing the highly rated Serbian, Miodrag Pivas, the Magpies now look to have come to an agreement for Georgian Vakhtang Salia who plays for Dinamo Tblisi.

Vakhtang Salia has been tipped to be the next Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Georgian outlet, Lilo has reported that the Magpies have come to an agreement with Dinamo Tblisi that Salia will remain in Georgia with them until the end of the season when he will then complete his move to Newcastle.

Playing as a centre-forward or left-winger for Tblisi, Salia has four goals and two assists this season in 24 appearances, one of those goals came in the Champions League Qualifiers.

Salia is tipped to follow the likes of fellow Georgia stars Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Giorgi Mamardashvili in rising to the top of European football.

Things are moving in the right direction in the reserves

We don't know much about the kid, but the praise he received in the piece from Lilo definitely has us excited that we could have another big young talent on our hands.

The reserves are becoming quite stacked now with Alfie Harrison and Trevan Sanusi tipped for greatness and several other top youngsters like Jamie and Lewis Miley, Alex Murphy and Joe White to name a few.

It's going to be a long process, but building up the reserves with youngsters and priming them for the first-team will hopefully pay off dividends - provided we don't have to keep selling them off to comply with PSR.
