Assuming that all goes well with the pursuit of Marc Guehi, Newcastle United have one position to fill to call this a successful transfer window.

Newcastle's aim this summer was to add bodies to the defence and add a right winger. We also hoped they'd address the striker situation and they have done that.

With Lloyd Kelly coming in and Marc Guehi looking extremely likely to follow, Eddie Howe just needs a right-sided forward to call this window a success, at least from an incomings point of view.

Outgoing business has been atrocious with two players going who shouldn't have and several players staying who should have gone.

Nico Gonzalez is wanted by Juventus

Newcastle could be poised to swoop if Juventus talks don't go well

We are still no further forward in establishing who the club's priority target is for right wing. We expect, much like Marc Guehi, that it will be someone who has probably been mentioned at some point, but never really been the main focus of the media, such is how Newcastle tends to operate.

However, The Boot Room have suggested that Newcastle will be watching on from the sidelines today as Fiorentina and Juventus meet to discuss the possible sale of Nico Gonzalez who has been heavily linked to Newcastle over the past few weeks.

Valued at around £29 million and labelled 'unbelievable' by Don Hutchison on TNT Sports, Gonzalez, being a left-footed right winger, fits the mould of an Eddie Howe winger to a tee.

We have a feeling Nico Gonzalez is not the one

Viola News in Italy reported that talks were taking place with Fiorentina and Juventus, but there were question marks over whether or not Juventus would meet Fiorentina's demands.

Should they not, Newcastle could see that as their time to pounce and steal Gonzalez away from Italy.

Our feeling, though, is that the Argentina international's name has been far tor prominent this summer, and that's usually a good indication that the club are looking elsewhere.
