The Saudi PIF are reportedly looking at investing in Brazilian club CR Vasco da Gama based in Rio De Janeiro.

As the Premier League keep trying to stifle the benefits of the multi-club ownership model, it hasn't deterred the PIF from expanding their global reach in the world of football.

The PIF owns four clubs in the Saudi Pro League, which they also heavily fund, and they have also been looking at clubs in Europe.

While the Saudi Pro League clubs don't seem to be in any way linked to Newcastle United, we can definitely see a future where other PIF-owned clubs come under the same umbrella.

A report from Brazil has linked the PIF with a Vasco takeover

A report coming out of Brazil has suggested that Vasco are in talks with the PIF over a takeover and if that comes off, we'd be keeping our fingers crossed that they'd become a sister club to Newcastle.

Vasco have produced a couple of top players from their youth academy over the years, most notably 1990's Brazil legend Romario and more recently, Phillipe Coutinho.

Having a direct link to Brazilian talent would be ideal for the Magpies and with Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton as their guide, we're sure they'd be pretty keen to make the switch too.

This could be huge for Newcastle

It's still mostly a dream based on one tweet right now, and we are of course, still waiting to see how that court case with Manchester City and the Premier League turned out which would directly affect how we could operate under a multi-club ownership system.

If we could build up a collection of clubs under one banner like Manchester City has, then there'd be no stopping us.

This is definitely something to keep an eye on.
