Eddie Howe's search for a versatile attacking player continues and a new report has named Newcastle United as one of several clubs keeping close tabs on a forward who impressed at Euro 2024.

Newcastle's priority this summer is to find a right-winger to replace and improve upon Miguel Almiron with many players having been linked so far.

Now Graeme Bailey has told HITC that he believes Newcastle are one of eight Premier League sides to have shown interest in Galatasaray's Baris Alper Yilmaz.

Although a right winger by trade, Yilmaz was deployed as a centre-forward for Turkey at Euro 2024 and despite not getting on the scoresheet, he still managed to impress.

Newcastle in long line of clubs looking at Baris Alper Yilmaz

The list of PL clubs looking at Yilmaz is insane

The 24-year-old now has a queue of clubs lining up to swoop for his services with a valuation of £22million being what it would take to tempt Galatasaray into selling.

Yilmaz was part of the Galatasaray side that galloped away with the Super Lig title last season breaking the 100 points barrier in doing so with Yilmaz contributing six goals and seven assists to the cause in 37 outings.

If Newcastle want to bring Baris Alper Yilmaz to St James' Park they may have to fend off Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Tottenham and Brighton. And that's just the Premier League sides who are chasing him.

Yilmaz has been likened to some top talent

Yilmaz has been compared to Phil Foden, Gareth Bale and Kylian Mbappe which is quite the list of names.

His pace is outstanding and it would be amazing to have him on one flank and Anthony Gordon on the other, but we can't help but feel that with seven other Premier League sides chasing him, including Champions League sides, we don't stand much of a chance on this one.

There have been so many wingers linked so far, we still suspect the one we actually sign will be someone we've not even mentioned yet.
