Newcastle United failed to bring in a new winger this summer despite a right-sided forward being a big priority for the Magpies' recruitment team.
Instead, Eddie Howe has gone into yet another season with the option of Miguel Almiron or Jacob Murphy to play down the right hand side of the attack.
It seems that Howe is starting to pivot towards playing either Harvey Barnes or Anthony Gordon out of position rather than rely on the pre-takeover signings of Miggy and Murph.
Caught Offside have today claimed that Newcastle could look to Manchester United for the answer in January however.
Their report claims that Newcastle could look at signing Brazilian flop Antony in January.
The £86 million signing could be allowed to leave Old Trafford for around £40 million after failing to live up to whatever it was the Man United scouts saw in him.
Known for having one trick in his arsenal that rarely leads to anything, I'd personally rather just stick with Miggy, thanks.
Caught Offside maintains that Anthony Elanga remains the priority with Antony as a backup option, but we really, really hope this is just a click-bait story from Caught Offside, particularly this line:
"Howe is said to highly appreciate Antony’s skills and believes he would be a valuable addition to the squad."
Nah. We're not having it. Not now. Not ever. We love you, Miggy!
