The Newcastle United rumour mill has now added another name to the Magpies' list of potential targets for the right-wing.

Newcastle continue to try and move on Miguel Almiron who, despite having plenty of interest from Saudi Arabia, is desperate to stay on at Newcastle despite clearly not being wanted.

While the Magpies have yet to bring in a replacement, there's no real urgency to try and push Miggy out the door, but it's certainly not for the lack of looking on Newcastle's part.

TeamTalk are now reporting that Newcastle are once again looking at Leeds United but while they have been keeping an eye on Crysencio Summerville, it seems that Newcastle are now looking to his teammate.

Newcastle are looking at Wilfried Gnonto

Newcastle are once again looking at Wilfried Gnonto of Leeds United

Wilfried Gnonto has been on Newcastle's radar before, but things went quiet and the Italian remained at Leeds United to battle in the Championship after impressing in the Premier League.

Gnonto played 44 times for Leeds last season, bagging nine goals and three assists which is about on par with what he achieved the season before while playing in the Premier League.

For that reason, Gnonto hasn't really grabbed the headlines as much in the last 12 months, but he still remains of interest to Everton who tried and failed to land the 20-year-old Italy international last summer.

Newcastle have pushed past Everton in the race for Gnonto

Everton could potentially return with another bid this summer, but Leeds will demand at least £25million to even enter talks which is why TeamTalk now places Newcastle as frontrunners for Gnonto's signature.

I thought Gnonto looked outstanding in his Premier League season, against Newcastle he just seemed to be everywhere and caused us plenty of problems.

While he has gone off the boil, he is still only 20 and would therefore be perfect for Eddie Howe to sculpt into a top player. It wouldn't be as spectacular of a signing as someone like Jarrod Bowen, but it's a lot more likely to happen.
