The Magpies search for a right-winger to replace Miguel Almiron has thrown up another new name with claims that the 26-year-old is keen on a move to Newcastle United.

There seems to be at least one new name in the frame every day as Newcastle continue to find themselves a new right winger.

It's a position that is said to be a priority for Eddie Howe with the club looking to offload Miguel Almiron this summer.

So far names like Jarrod Bowen, Anthony Elanga and Noni Madueke keep appearing, but we're also now seeing names such as Serge Gnabry and Xavi Simons entering the mix.

Viktor Tsygankov has been compared to Andriy Shevchenko

Newcastle and Arsenal are showing the most interest in Viktor Tsygankov

Now, Caught Offside have brought us a new name in the form of Ukraine international Viktor Tsygankov who plays for Girona, who will be at St James' Park next month as part of the Sela Weekender.

Caught Offside say that Newcastle, Aston Villa and Arsenal are looking at the 26-year-old who has a €30million (£25.7million) release clause in his contract.

Tsygankov, who has been compared to Andriy Shevchenko, is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League and could soon have his pick of clubs.

The lack of European football could haunt Newcastle again

Tsygankov made 30 appearances in La Liga for Girona last season scoring eight goals and providing seven assists as they pushed to a third-place finish in the league.

If Newcastle could see off the competition from Villa and Arsenal - who can both offer Champions League football - then Tsygankov could be a cost-effective replacement for Miggy, with most other targets potentially costing way more than £25million.

Arsenal and Newcastle are supposedly showing more interest than Villa, and the Gunners would have to convince Tsygankov that he'd get game time ahead of Bukayo Saka, something that will be tricky. We're not 100% convinced, but we'll be keeping an eye on this one.
