Newcastle United could be the beneficiary of one player's refusal to sign a new contract with Manchester United.
According to HITC, Manchester United youngster Omari Forson has told the club he plans to leave when his contract expires at the end of the month.
This comes after a desperate plea from teammates Kobbie Mainoo and Willy Kambwala for him to stay fell on deaf ears.
Forson has allegedly told the club he knows where his future lies with HITC naming Newcastle United among the clubs it could be.
Erik ten Hag gave Forson his debut last season in a game against Fulham, and he made several more appearances for the Red Devils before the season ended, but it doesn't appear to have been enough for the 19-year-old to want to stick around despite Ten Hag's praise after his debut telling the Club's website:
“I think it was reasonable. He had some good actions. He was reliable in defending and had some good actions in possession. I saw, for his first time, he did well.
“He deserves the position. Lately, he’s performing very well, over the last half year he’s worked very hard, showed his progression.”
The attacking midfielder is said to be interesting Crystal Palace, Brentford and Leicester City in the Premier League as well as Newcastle and RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga with HITC confident he will end up at one of those clubs.
In his seven first-team outings last season, Forson managed one assist which isn't a bad return when you're making your break in the shadow of Kobbie Mainoo.
As much as Man United players are forever tainted, we wouldn't be opposed to Forson heading our way, he looks like he's got plenty of potential, and taking an exciting prospect off their hands always adds that bit of spice to things.
