Newcastle United have stepped up their recruitment efforts according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
One of Newcastle's main recruitment policies post-takeover has been to bring in young talent to develop for the future which has seen Newcastle bring in lots of talented youngsters in the past two years.
Newcastle have managed to bring in players from all over the world, including taking promising youngsters from Premier League rivals in the form of Lewis Hall from Chelsea and Alfie Harrison from Manchester City.
The Magpies now have their sights set on Arsenal with 18-year-old Amario Cozier-Duberry firmly on their radar.
Arsenal legend Jack Wilshere has likened Cozier-Duberry to Bukayo Saka and said that he is 'unplayable' at times when speaking to The Athletic.
Now Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Newcastle have already approached Arsenal about the youngster who are keen to keep him at the Emirates.
Talks between Arsenal and Cozier-Duberry are ongoing but Newcastle aren't giving up hope.
Mainly a right-winger, Cozier-Duberry can play anywhere across the front three and is set to be the next Bukayo Saka, so if we can't have the real thing, a solid imitation might not be such a bad thing.
Cozier-Duberry hasn't made his breakthrough into Arsenal's first-team yet and he may feel that he has a better chance of playing his way into Eddie Howe's side than Mikel Arteta's - at least we hope so.
Any chance Newcastle have to take someone promising away from Arteta, we're all for it.
