Newcastle United Women are eyeing a move for Manchester United star Nikita Parris in what would be a real statement of intent from the Lasses.

Lasses boss Becky Langley will oversee her side for yet another season following consecutive promotions, most recently to the Women's Championship.

Langley will surely see her side as favourites for promotion following a busy transfer window which saw the arrival of European Championship winner Demi Stokes after her departure from Manchester City.

With the new season ahead, the Lasses are now looking to boost their attacking acumen and believe Parris is the perfect choice to do just that.

Nikita Parris to Newcastle?

The move seems an ambitious one, especially with Parris being keen on a return to the England squad after not being selected by Sarina Weigman since 2022.

However, according to The Guardian, the Lasses are looking to add a striker to their line-up and are targeting the former Lioness who achieved 71 caps during her England career.

The Lasses would have to pay a fee for Parris after the Red Devils activated a one-year contract extension clause for the 30-year-old late last month.

Newcastle have already signed forward Amy Andrews from Durham WFC earlier in the transfer window but the interest in Parris makes it clear that they aren't done with their transfer business yet.

A busy summer already for NUFC Women

Becky Langley has clearly been pulling the strings in the transfer market this summer.

The Lasses have already seen the arrivals of Claudia Moan, Amy Andrews, Demi Stokes, Shania Hayles, Rachel Furness and Deanna Cooper.

The squad is looking ready for the new Championship season and expectations will be high.

The signing of Parris would make it feel like there is no excuse for not achieving promotion to the Women's Super League.
