Newcastle United are currently in negotiations with Nottingham Forest for a swap deal that would help both clubs sign players amid PSR penalties, according to reports.

The Magpies are seriously struggling to find the £30million they need to ensure they are complying with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability rules.

Forest is also experiencing major PSR issues, they were given a points deduction for it last season but managed to secure Premier League survival.

Now, both teams are looking to bring new signings in without having to pay extortionate fees.

A swap deal between Newcastle and Nottingham Forest is being discussed.

The Magpies are in talks with Forest over a swap deal for winger Anthony Elanga, with Elliot Anderson going the other way.

Craig Hope of the Daily Mail has reported that negotiations began last night, but Anderson is happy to stay at the club despite links to moves away to a number of clubs.

Hope states that this proposal is just one of many that the club are trying to balance before the deadline on June 30.

Journalist John Percy has included that Newcastle winger Yankuba Minteh has also been included in the swap deal, a real sign of desperation from the Magpies.

Elanga is a cheap option at right-wing

The Swede has had a positive season at Forest since joining for £15m last season.

The 22-year-old scored five goals and managed nine assists in the Premier League last season, helping Forest ensure they would play a third successive season in England's top flight.

Newcastle are in the market for a right-winger but has failed to make any meaningful approaches due to the ongoing PSR issues.

A swap deal for a player like Elanga would be perfect for Eddie Howe and his side, a young player who has bags of potential.

It is a shame it would be at the expense of Anderson however, the young midfielder who impressed in his stints last season.
