Newcastle United struggled to another Premier League point down at Bournemouth on Sunday making it abundantly clear that signings are needed this week.

There are definitely still gaps in Newcastle's squad that need filling with better-quality players.

Eddie Howe was forced to play a right-back at centre-back in the second game of the season because of the club's inability to strike a deal with Crystal Palace over Marc Guehi.

He was forced to play Jacob Murphy on the right wing with Miguel Almiron on the bench because there has been no movement on bringing in a better winger, as well as a lack of movement on moving Almiron out.

Talks are back on for James Trafford

Fourth-choice 'keeper John Ruddy was on the bench on Sunday

In addition to all that, veteran goalkeeper John Ruddy took a spot on the bench because Martin Dubravka was forced to miss out due to a concussion injury picked up during training. We have no idea where Odysseas Vlachodimos was.

Don't worry though because TalkSPORT has claimed that Newcastle have re-entered negotiations with Burnley over young 'keeper James Trafford, so that should sort the defender issue and the lack of a decent right-winger issues right out.

James Trafford was linked with Newcastle earlier in the window before we signed Ruddy and Vlachodimos, but now we have five goalkeepers, why on Earth do we need another? Are we trying to rival Chelsea?

This club is driving us up the wall this summer

The young stopper signed for Burnley from Manchester City for £19 million last summer with City adding a hefty sell-on clause into the deal, so it was no surprise that Burnley rejected Newcastle's £15 million approach earlier in the window.

We have said that if we signed Trafford this summer and loaned him back to Burnley, we could see some sense in that, but TalkSPORT claim that Newcastle are looking to do a loan with an option to buy, so it seems as though they want him at the club for this season.

This club is making me lose my mind this summer. We have made baffling decision after baffling decision and we're still waiting for them to pay off in any way.
