Newcastle United have today confirmed that Jack Brazil has joined the club from PSV Eindhoven as Under 16's coach.

This is Newcastle's second impressive staff appointment in as many days after confirming the arrival of Paul Mitchell as sporting director.

Brazil has actually been in the role since Monday according to The Shields Gazette. The 30-year-old replaces Ian Bogie who left the role back in January.

Last month Brazil had posted on X that he was joining Newcastle United and Friday has finally seen official confirmation from the club.

Jack Brazil is excited to take up his first full-time role in England

After spoiling the surprise via Social Media last month, Jack Brazil has now spoken of his delight at taking up the new role on the club's official site.

"I'm really happy to be joining such a big club and such a big project in helping to develop, grow and further the effectiveness of the Academy in the coming years. That was a key attraction in taking this role at the club. I want to play a big part of that and seeing where the Academy is going in the coming years was a real attraction to me.

"After eight years of coaching outside of the country, this is my first full-time job back in England and I'm hoping that I can help by bringing some innovative ideas to the Academy from the different environments and cultures I have worked in to potentially add to the work that is already taking place.

"Finally, I feel that the values of the club really align with my own and that was hugely attractive for me. I have a real value on passion and hard work and I'm really excited to get on the grass for the first time next week with the under-16s."

Newcastle's board keep making the right moves behind the scenes with staff recruitment

It's another quality appointment by the club as they continue to build behind the scenes.

Newcastle's academy still needs a lot of work with the stiffs still struggling for results. Starting at the Under 16 level is a good a way as any to ensure that our kids get all the help they can on their journey to breaking into the first team.

We just wonder what took the club so long to make this announcement, were they, busy with insane transfers they shouldn't have had to do or appointing a new sporting director or something?
