Never-ending Newcastle United transfer rumours could finally be about to come to an end - Good news at last
There have been a few transfer stories that have followed Newcastle United around like a bad smell, the worst of which lately has been Alexander Isak's future and him going to Arsenal and then Liverpool.
As well as that, the Italian media are obsessed with finding new and inventive ways to try and link Sandro Tonali with a move back to Italy.
Meanwhile, as far as incomings are concerned, Newcastle have been inextricably linked with a move for Dominic Calvert-Lewin for years now.
Every transfer window since Eddie Howe took over at St James' Park, there have been stories linking Newcastle with a move for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will soon have a new club
When the 28-year-old left Everton as a free agent earlier this summer, we were bracing ourselves for relentless transfer rumours, and while they were out there, it wasn't anywhere near as painful as we were expecting.
Now, though, it looks as though the former England international has found a new club in the form of Leeds United, according to Keith Downie, who also claims Sunderland were keen on the injury-prone striker at one point.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks set to join the Premier League new boys and will link up with former Magpies Sean Longstaff and Karl Darlow.
Will DCL prove us wrong next season?
We could never quite do the mental gymnastics to fully get our head around the idea of signing Calvert-Lewin, even when things were very desperate, so we're glad we don't have to go there now.
It's going to be interesting to see how DCL does at Leeds, whether he can stay fit and more importantly, can he score goals?
We've got a lot of receipts on this site of talking crap about him, so we'd hate to have to face a chorus of "I told you so" by ... I dunno, who actually thinks he's good? Somebody must do.
