'Nervous': Ruben Amorim tells reporters what he's expecting when Newcastle United come to Old Trafford

Manchester United are the next opponents for rampant Newcastle United, with the two set to meet at Old Trafford on Monday at 8pm live on Sky Sports.

The two sides had very contrasting fortunes in the Boxing Day fixtures with Newcastle picking up three points at home with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa.

Meanwhile, Manchester United fell to a 2-0 defeat to relegation-threatened Wolverhampton Wanderers.

New Man United boss Ruben Amorim must be wondering what he's done after leaving Sporting CP to come to this mess.

Ruben Amorim appears to be very apprehensive already

The Portuguese spoke to the press on Friday morning (via Man United Official Website) ahead of Monday's meeting, and he has admitted that Newcastle could cause his side problems, but more telling was how he claimed that Newcastle could silence the Old Trafford crowd and make them nervous just by playing their usual game.

"We have to fight against everything, because our supporters are always there. But they are tired of this moment. We have to expect that any play from Newcastle near our box is going to make the stadium nervous and our players have to cope with that. It is a very strong team, very fast, with a lot of pace and a lot of time with the same coach. We want to be competitive and try to win the game. That is all."

He then went on to say he will ask nothing extra of the Man United fans on the day.

"Nothing. I am not even there to ask anything to our fans. They give us everything. A full stadium, always supporting, clapping after loss after loss. I just want to give something to the fans, not asking something of the fans."

We're feeling pretty good ahead of Monday's game

It might just be the confidence from yesterday's win talking, but Ruben Amorim already sounds defeated with several days to go before the match even kicks off.

The way he spoke about the crowd getting nervous when we go on the attack should spur our lads on to keep the ball up their end, that will silence the crowd which will, in turn, make their players nervous.

It's probably too soon to say anything, but there's a definite good feeling growing about this game.
