It's transfer deadline day, and clubs that have been trying to find new homes for players are becoming proactive when it comes to finding moves. These clubs now know that Newcastle United have money to spend.

Not only does Newcastle have money to spend, it's well known that Newcastle need to spend it to bring in a striker, so while there's the risk that clubs will try and gouge us for more money for our targets due to the lateness of the window and the knowledge of the £125 million incoming, some clubs are taking a different approach.

According to TBR Football's Graeme Bailey, Newcastle have been offered 'nearly a dozen' strikers over the weekend.

There have been some big names touted to the Magpies, including names we've seen many times before over the last few windows.

Newcastle still have plenty of options for another striker

Graeme Bailey has rattled off a few names that could feature in Newcastle's plans for today.

“We can now confirm that [Nicolas] Jackson – who saw a loan move to Bayern Munich called off at the weekend – is someone the club have talked about.

“Victor Boniface – who saw a move to Milan called off earlier in the window, is another they have been offered, while Newcastle have also been offered Randal Kolo Muani.

“Sporting’s Conrad Harder has also been linked along with Alexander Sorloth and Artem Dovbyk. They held talks over Lois Openda too – but he is now heading to Juventus.”

We wouldn't even like to guess at who we'll end up with

Yoane Wissa looks the most likely face to come through after reports this morning that a deal had been agreed.

The Magpies look set to pay between £50 million and £55 million to land the 28-year-old, who has reportedly agreed a four-year contract.

Anything could still happen between now and 7pm, however, so we'll have to see how things pan out.
