Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon represented Newcastle United as England took on Serbia in Belgrade on Tuesday night.

The Three Lions put in their best performance by far since Thomas Tuchel took charge of the team at the start of the year.

The Toon duo both started on the left for England, with Newcastle's third Lion, Dan Burn, sitting this game out on the bench.

England put five past Serbia in a comprehensive win, with both Newcastle boys putting in solid displays. Gordon was withdrawn on 69 minutes with a yellow card against his name, while Tino played the full game.

Lewis Hall has a huge chance of beating Tino Livramento to the England LB spot

Tino Livramento got 7/10 from the National Media, while one paper rated his chances of a World Cup spot

Tino Livramento was rock solid playing at left-back once again, preferred to Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly. The Telegraph rated his performance a solid 7/10 while giving their verdict as to whether or not the Newcastle man would find himself as a regular starter in next year's World Cup competition.

“May not grab the headlines, but this was an effective performance from the Newcastle full-back. Good in the duel on his flank, his defending was solid – which was his focus rather than bombing forward 7/10.

Newcastle United are likely to have England's first-choice left-back next year

Left back has always been a problem area for England, with Kieran Trippier often filling in at that position in the past, and now, while Tino Livramento is predominantly a right-back, he's proved to be more than adept on the left side.

Myles Lewis-Skelly is probably Tino's main competition for the left-back spot, and will be the media's favourite because he plays for Arsenal. Although if Lewis Hall rediscovers his pre-injury form for Newcastle, then Tino's clubmate could be the man to beat.

We probably expect Lewis Hall to be Tuchel's first choice if he can rediscover his form. Tino still has every chance of playing his way to taking the right-back spot between now and next summer though.
