Newcastle United could certainly do with adding some firepower to the squad in the upcoming transfer windows.
It's strongly believed that Callum Wilson is in his final season at the club which leaves just Alexander Isak and Will Osula as out-and-out strikers in the first-team.
As we beat that drum loudly in the summer - having just two strikers in the first-team squad is simply madness - Newcastle will want to replace Wilson ... or at least they should.
Canadian striker Jonathan David is believed to be on Newcastle's wish list, but he is also on the radar of many clubs, so Paul Mitchell will be sure that his team are looking elsewhere too.
One forward who has reportedly caught the eye of the Magpies is 23-year-old Brazilian Yuri Alberto who currently plays for Corinthians.
Yuri Alberto has had a brush with the Premier League before with West Ham and Southampton trying to land the £17 million-rated forward in the summer but as The Boot Room reports, Alberto backed out of a move to Southampton while West Ham had a £14 million bid rejected.
Now, however, it seems that Alberto is very keen on a move to the Premier League which will put West Ham and Newcastle on alert.
After a spell at Zenit St Petersburg, Alberto believes it's time for him to return to Europe with England top of his list.
“I have a big dream of playing in Europe. I stayed at Zenit and ended up coming back because I couldn’t compete in European tournaments due to the war. I am very happy here at Corinthians but, if an opportunity arises that benefits both Corinthians and myself, I am open to [leaving].
“My priority is England. I really like it there.”
Yuri Alberto has 27 goals in 54 appearances this year which is certainly a return not to be sniffed at and given that he could be available for under £20 million, it looks like he could be a good punt for Newcastle.
